I had the pleasure once again to attend the 4th Days Of The Dead Atlanta a couple weekends ago.  I have attended my conventions across the country from Texas to Virginia but Days Of The Dead has become one of my very favorites.  This show is run by the fans for the fans. There is a different laid back atmosphere going on at these shows. In addition to Atlanta they also do shows in Chicago, Indiana and Los Angeles as well. They are also putting on Shock Culture.  A pop culture convention featuring guests from everything from Horror to Sci Fi. This show will be in Indiana as well.  If you want to have a guaranteed good fun weekend attend one of their shows!!

Atlanta 2015

One thing that first drew me to the convention scene in the first place was the chance to meet my favorite horror stars. DOTD always keeps me happy in this aspect. There are always some of my favorites attending!

The guest of honor this year at the show was Angus Scrimm who played The Tall Man in the Phantasm films. One of the nicest men that you will ever meet.  Although he is 91 years old, he is full of energy and sharp as a tack.  He remembered our interview in Chattanooga a few years ago and even attended the VIP party after the show!

Image

My all time favorite convention guest to see has to be PJ Soles.  Over the past few years I have seen her many times.  I can’t say enough nice comments about this lady.  She really loves meeting her fans and talking to them about her movies.  She was in two of my top 5 horror movies, Halloween and Carrie and Rock And Roll High School which is one of my favorite movies as well.  Here are a few pictures of PJ from Atlanta.

In addition to PJ and Angus there were many more celebrities at the show.

Speaking of nice celebrities, Felissa Rose from Sleepaway Camp is awesome as well.

Kane Hodder was a guest at the show and was busy signing all weekend. Kane played Jason in three of the Friday The 13th movies and is always very popular.  Any yes that is a live tarantula climbing up his shirt.

This years show featured a Devils Rejects Reunion.  It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since this film first came out.  It was an instant classic.  Bill (Otis) Moseley was a guest at Days Of The Dead.

Image

Ginger Lynn Allen was a part of The Devil’s Rejects Reunion as well.  She had some interesting stories to tell about filming he scene with Sid Haig in the movie.

You can’t have a Devils Rejects Reunion without Capt. Spalding, Sid Haig.  Always great seeing Sid.

In addition to The Devil’s Rejects Reunion, Days Of The Dead Atlanta also featured a Hellraiser Reunion as well.

Doug Bradley starred in Hellraiser as Pinhead.  He created a horror icon in that role.

Nicholas Vince was Chatterer, another Cenobite.

Valentina Vargas was someone I was really looking forward to meeting.  She played Angelique in Hellraiser: Bloodline.  She was a very sweet lady to talk to.

Some of the other guests at the show:

Image

Tiffany Shepis was one of the first interviews I did for this website and I always love seeing her at conventions.  One of her latest roles was in Sharknado 2.

Image

John Kasser who did the voice of The Crypt Keeper is an awesome guy.  I love hearing him do his Crypt Keeper voice as well as the many other voices he has done over the years.

Image

Melissa Cowan who played the part of Bicycle Girl in the first episode was a last minute guest addition.

Image

Jamison Newlander from Lost Boys.
