Days Of The Dead invaded a new city a couple weeks ago and I have to say it was one of the best first time shows ever. Now in their 6th year of doing horror conventions DOTD staff announced late last year that they would be doing a show in Louisville. I was over joyed to hear the news and I started spreading the word soon to all of my horror friends in the area and the city welcomed the show with open arms. Everyone I talked to said they loved the fact that Days had come to The Derby City and were already looking forward to next year!
The DOTD staff work hard to give fans the best convention experience possible and it shows. Bill Philputt and Adolfo Dorta are the organizers and promoters of the show.
Something new for the Louisville show was a Tattoo Expo. Many top tattoo artists from around the country came to the show and the tattoo guns were busy all weekend. Scott Medjesky was over the Tattoo Expo and it will return to Louisville again next year.
The FX Makeup Challenge is hosted by Chris Blair and is a part of every Days Of The Dead Show. If you are into special effects makeup check it out at the next show.
Larry Lutze hosts the Costume Contest and it is always a blast. I had to miss it in Louisville because of standing in photo op lines but I was able to see some of the costumes from the contest, and as always they were amazing!!!
One thing that had me really excited about the show was the Return Of The Living Dead Reunion. This movie is one of my all time favorite films and the cast is always so amazing. Beverly Randolph is such a sweet lady. It was so nice to see her again and spend some time talking with her!
Beverly signing a Tarman bust for a fan!
Don’t look now Beverly but……
Jewel Shepard was on hand as well. She is also a very sweet lady.
A ROTLD Reunion would not be complete without Trash. Linnea Quigley is one of my all time favorite screem queens.
One picture with Linnea is never enough for me!!!
Jennifer Banko who was in Friday The 13th VII and Leatherface: TCM 3 was so much fun. Got to hang out with her a lot over the weekend.
Cassandra Peterson (AKA Elvira) was at the show too. Last time I met her I got a photo with her in her Elvira costume so this time I got one with her as herself. If you are a fan of hers you really need to meet her. She is so sweet and nice. Seems like she really loves meeting her fans.
I always love seeing Sleepaway Camp’s Felissa Rose. She is so pretty and has such an amazing personality!!! Don’t pass her table up if she is at a convention you are attending. You can thank me later. Wonderful lady!
Wrestling Legend Mick Foley was on hand greeting his fans too. I am glad that DOTD always tries to book wrestlers at their shows. We have been watching these guys and ladies for years and it is always exciting to meet them, especially one like Mick!
My amazing friend Farrah with Mick Foley!
Female wrestler Rebel was at the show too. She is so beautiful and always wears such cute outfits. I had to get a photo with her each day!!
Rebel looking soooo sexy!!
I was so happy to finally get to meet Brooke Theiss from Nightmare On Elm St 4. She was one actress I had always wanted to meet and DOTD made it happen!
With horror icon Bill Moseley
Amanda Wyss is such a sweetheart!! I had seen her in Nashville earlier this year but I had to get another photo with her in Louisville!
Imogen Boorman was part of the Hellraiser Reunion. She was kind enough to pose for a photo with the Hellraiser box for me.
Eveyone loves seeing The Captain & Maybelle’s Show!
I am always excited to see what costumes people are going to be wearing. Some of them are so creative. There are some really talented people out there. Here are some that were in Louisville!
This lady got my vote for best costume, Melanie Daniels from The Birds!
There are always a lot of clowns running at DOTD and this was one of the best!
There was even an entire clown family! How would you like to have Thanksgiving Dinner with these guys?
Three very amazing costumes!
These two were pretty cool too!
Would you share an umbrella with this lady?
I think this guy would!!!
Soooo cool. Amazing work and detail on this costume!
I have made some awesome friends over the years from attending horror conventions. I look forward to seeing them at each and every show I attend! I have to thank DOTD for helping me meet some very amazing friends over the past 6 years!!
I first met Farrah and her daughter Destiny at Days Of The Dead Atlanta in January. Since then we have become great friends.
Me with Farrah, Destiny and her friends Emily and Brianna! Awesome friends!

The Cast and Crew of Don’t Fall Asleep!
I had a great time in Louisville for the first Days Of The Dead. A lot of hard work into this convention and it showed.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone involved with Days Of The Dead for putting on a great show in Louisville. To me each convention they do gets better and better.
The final DOTD of 2016 takes place in Chicago next month and they kick off 2017 in Feb in Atlanta. Click here for more info on those shows!!
