This past weekend Days Of The Dead returned to the city of it’s birth Indianapolis, Indiana for a weekend of horror, rock stars, parties and fun. Anyone who is a friend of mine knows how much I love Days Of The Dead. I have attended many conventions and the ones that I am always impressed with is Days! They have amazing guests, awesome events and great vendors. I feel like a little kid at Christmas during the weeks before one of their shows. And the whole weekend is like Christmas for three days.
One thing that always impresses me are the great guests that they book. There were several guest in Indy this year that made my mouth water.
I had met Zoe Bell at another Days Of The Dead Con and I couldn’t wait to meet her again. She is an actress and stunt woman and has appeared in several of Quentin Tarantino as both an actress and stunt woman and I really admire her work. She was amazing!
I love her accent and I could listen to her talk for hours!
I almost had a heart attack when I learned that Kristy Swanson was going to be a guest in Indy this year.
Kristy has a list of film and TV credits as long as your leg including Pretty In Pink, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Knots Landing but I will always remember her as Buffy The Vampire Slayer! Kristy was just as beautiful in person as she was in that movie. I told her that and she blushed. She was a very sweet lady!
Another guest with a long line of film and TV credits was Shawnee Smith. She has been in everything from the remake of The Blob to Who’s Harry Crumb? Perhaps she is best know in the horror world as Amanda Young in the Saw films. I had been wanting to meet her for a long time. So glad my wish finally came true thanks to DOTD!
Professional Photo Op with Shawnee Smith!
Scout Taylor Compton was another guest I was looking forward to seeing again. She always remembers me and has such a bright personality you can’t help but love her. My two favorite roles of hers have to be Lita Ford in The Runaways film and as Laurie in Rob Zombies Halloween remake.
Also on hand at the show were Scout’s co-stars in Halloween, Tyler Mane who played Michael Myers as an adult and Daeg Faerch who played him as a kid. I decided to do the photo op with them and was really pleased with the picture!
Scout Taylor Compton!
Ginger Lynn is another guest who I can’t get enough of. She was a one time adult film star but has also appeared in main stream films as well. She was in The Devils Rejects and will be in the up coming Rob Zombie movie 31.
Getting a kiss from Ginger!
One of my all time favorite Scream Queens is Linnea Quigley. He list of film credits goes on and on. My favorite role of hers has to be Trash from the cult classic Return Of The Living Dead.
Felissa Rose from Sleepaway Camp is always a pleasure to see. She has become a regular at DOTD and is always laughing, smiling and cutting up with her fans.
Another DOTD staple is PJ Soles, who happens to be one of my very favorites to see. It seems that no matter how many times she does a convention, she always has a line of adoring fans at her table. Her personality glows and the fans just love her. I love it when young fans come up to her table and tell her that Halloween and Carrie were their introduction to horror or that Rock And Roll High School turned them on to The Ramones music. It shows me that these films will live on for many generations to come.

PJ giving a lady a lick or two for her birthday!

…..and my friend NC!
Me and Indie film actress Elissa Dowling. I have been a fan of hers for a long time and was so glad to get a picture with her this past weekend!
One movie that stuck in my mind when I first saw it was Children Of The Corn. Two of the stars of that film were John Franklin and Courtney Gaines. Here are pictures of me with both. John (above) and Courtney (below). I had no idea that John played Cousin It in The Addams Family movie.
You never know who you will run into at a Days Of The Dead Show. Bill came walking thru with Brian Posehn. He appeared in The Devils Rejects as Jimmy. I also liked his role on The Sarah Silverman Show. I didn’t have anything for him to sign but I did get a photo with him.
How awesome is this picture? PJ and Ginger.
One of the highlights of the weekend was getting to hear a few songs that Bill Moseley and Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down) recently recorded. It was great getting to be the first to hear the songs and getting to hear them both talk about them as they played.

I “totally” forgot about the costume contest being moved to the afternoon and I missed it which was a big disappointment because I love seeing what costumes the fans wear. I did manage to get a few shots of some of them!!
The King Lives at Days Of The Dead!
Make-up is a big part of any costume and this lady’s make-up was great.
Evil was lurking all around!
As I said before, you never know who you will see at a Days Of The Dead Show
This was my favorite costume from the whole weekend. Julie from Return Of The Living Dead 3.
Jessica Rabbit…..she’s not bad, she’s just drawn that way!
Amy is one of the DOTD regular cos-players, along with Larry, Jeff and Chris. They all bring great costumes. Chris had hurt his back and wasn’t able to dress up. I did get a few pictures of Amy and Larry. I must have missed Jeff. Sorry man!
This is my favorite costume of Amy’s.
Amy’s clown character was chasing people around the parking lot. Really scary if you have a clown phobia.
I really like Larry’s Mr Sprinkles character.
Would you buy an ice cream from this guy???
The main thing I look forward to at conventions is seeing the friends that I have made over the years. I consider it a Horror Family Reunion.

So if you can’t tell what a good time Days Of The Dead is, check it out for yourself. They have shows in Chicago, LA, Atlanta and they have added a new city for this year, Louisville Ky.
I want to say a huge thank you to Adolfo, Carrie, Bill and their staff and all of the volunteers. I know you guys work hard to make DOTD a fun experience for the fans and you hard work shows each and every time.
See you in Louisville!!!
